Man uses tractor to smash 7 police cars in Vermont

Roger Pion, 34, was arrested Thursday shortly after damage of the vehicle fleet of police of Orleans county.

NEWPORT. - A resident of Vermont, who authorities say was furious with the police to have been arrested recently, used a tractor to smash seven police vehicles.
State Police said Roger Pion, 34, was arrested Thursday in Newport shortly after damage of the vehicle fleet of police of Orleans county.
It damaged five marked patrol cars, an unmarked car and van transportation. The damage was estimated at least $ 250,000. No one was injured.
Pion apparently was upset with his recent arrest for resisting arrest and unlawful possession of marijuana.
Police officers working at the station were unaware of the destruction until a neighbor called the emergency phone number 911. Not because they had heard the noise as the air conditioning to stop and acknowledged that they could not prosecute the offender for having run out of vehicles.
Pion faces numerous charges and was about to appear on Friday before a judge. The authorities do not know if you have an attorney.
The Deputy Police Chief Philip Brooks said the vehicles were destroyed over half the fleet of cars of that body in the rural county bordering Canada. Other officers were on patrol at the time of the incident.
